A RESOLUTION REMINDING ALL TRICYCLE OPERATORS AND DRIVERS’ ASSOCIATIONS (TODA) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY, PROVINCE OF RIZAL, TO STRICTLY OBSERVE THE STUDENT DISCOUNT LAW OR REPUBLIC ACT 11314 AND FOLLOW DULY APPROVED TARIFFS AND FARES SPECIFICALLY DURING THE COURSE OF THE REGIONAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION MEET 2025
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 11314 or the Student Fare Discount Act, pursuant to Section 1 and Paragraph 3, Section 2 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, mandates grant of a student fare discount privilege to all Filipino citizen currently enrolled in a duly authorized elementary, secondary, technical-vocational, or higher education institution;
WHEREAS, the Regional Athletic Association Meet or RAAM will be held on February 28, 2025 to March 7, 2025 in various sports venues and public schools in the Municipality of Taytay with thousands of delegates and participants coming from the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon and Rizal;
WHEREAS, most student-athletes competing in the said athletic association meet will use tricycles near their billeting quarters as a mode of transportation heading to and from the playing venues;
WHEREAS, some members of our public transport service providers might take advantage of the situation which will not only tarnish the whole TODA sector of Taytay but also that of the Local Government of Taytay and the Provincial Government of Rizal as it will be the host of this year’s Regional Meet;
WHEREAS, to ensure that all student-athletes will be accorded their privilege as mandated under the Constitution and Republic Act No. 11314, all TODA in the Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal are hereby strictly reminded to strictly observe the Student Fair Discount Act;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in session duly assembled, hereby REMINDS ALL TRICYCLE OPERATORS AND DRIVERS’ ASSOCIATIONS (TODA) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY, PROVINCE OF RIZAL, TO STRICTLY OBSERVE THE STUDENT DISCOUNT LAW OR REPUBLIC ACT 11314 AND FOLLOW DULY APPROVED TARIFFS AND FARES SPECIFICALLY DURING THE COURSE OF THE REGIONAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION MEET 2025.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the TMTFRO is requested to spearhead the information dissemination regarding this matter as the department concerned with the transport groups in this Municipality.
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that copies of this Resolution and other attachments be furnished to the TMTFRO, all TODA Federations and all concerned offices for their information and appropriate action.
