Resolution No. 556 series of 2025

A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING FULL SUPPORT FOR THE PETITION OF THE COFRADIA DELA ANUNCIATA DE TAYTAY TO GRANT THE HONOR OF A PONTIFICAL CORONATION TO THE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE ANUNCIATA DE TAYTAY


WHEREAS, as attested in one of the old bells of the church of Taytay casted on August 30, 1926, the Cofradia de Nuestra Señora de Anunciata was already existing as a group at that time, or even earlier, serving the parish;

WHEREAS, the longer Relacion of Fr. Pedro Chirino, SJ, the first Jesuit Minister of Taytay, dating back to the 1600s, mentioned the presence and works of the Congregacion de la Anunciata in Taytay and Antipolo in 1598;

WHEREAS, the devotion of the Nuestra Señora de Anunciata has been promoted and nurtured by the Cofradia for centuries in Taytay;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Bayan acknowledged the cultural and religious relevance of the Enthronement of the Image of the Nuestra Señora de Anunciata to the community through Resolution No. 491 series of 2024;

WHEREAS, this August Body has listed the Venerated Image of the Virgin of Anunciata as among the tangible and moveable Cultural Property of Taytay through Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 509 series of 2024 - “Resolution Adopting and Endorsing to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) the Updated Local Cultural Inventory of the Municipality of Taytay as of November 27, 2024”;

WHEREAS, the Cofradia de la Nuestra Señora de Anunciata has contributed significantly to the Municipality of Taytay through the following:

• Preserving and promoting Religious and Cultural Heritage: enriching the cultural and religious identity of Taytay through its devotion and traditions, such as Debosyon sa Mahal na Birhen ng Anunciata and Mahal na Poong Hesus del Santo Entierro (AMBA).
• Active Participation in Local Governance and Development: Serving as a recognized member of the Taytay Cultural, Historical, and Creative Industries Council (TCHCIC) of the Municipality of Taytay, contributing to policymaking and community development
• Guardians of Religious and Historical Treasures: acting as the caretaker of century-old religious images and artifacts that hold historical and spiritual significance; recognized by the Local Government of Taytay, with one of its revered images officially listed in the Local Inventory of Tangible Properties.
• Advancing Education and Youth Empowerment: supporting students in need by providing educational assistance, helping them pursue their studies, and achieve their aspirations.
• Providing Healthcare and Social Welfare Services: extending care to marginalized communities through Klinika ni Juan, offering free medical consultations and essential medicines; working in partnership with the Local Government of Taytay to ensure accessible healthcare for those in need.

WHEREAS, a Pontifical Coronation is an affirmation given by the Supreme Pontiff to a devotion to a particular Marian advocation, the highest honor given to a representation of the Mother of God;

WHEREAS, a representation of the Blessed Virgin Mary that is granted a Pontifical Coronation will certainly bring great honor to the town and people of Taytay, who are fervently devoted to the Blessed Mother;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in session duly assembled, hereby EXPRESSES FULL SUPPORT FOR THE PETITION OF THE COFRADIA DELA ANUNCIATA DE TAYTAY TO GRANT THE HONOR OF A PONTIFICAL CORONATION TO THE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE ANUNCIATA DE TAYTAY.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to all associated offices and parties concerned for their information and appropriate action.

ADOPTED, this 5th day of February 2025, 2:29 PM at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal.
