A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE ATHLETES FROM TAYTAY, RIZAL, FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED FIRST NATIONAL DEAF GAMES, AND REQUESTING THE PROVISION OF INCENTIVES FOR THE BRONZE MEDALIST 3X3 MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, the First National Deaf Garnes, supported by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), was held in the National Capital Region from September 28 to September 29, 2024, and from October 12 to October 13, 2024. featuring five distinct sports: basketball, badminton, bowling, table tennis, and volleyball;
WHEREAS, the Philippine Sports Federation of the Deaf (PSFD), established in 2008 as a non-government organization, has been dedicated to supporting deaf athletes through various sports activities at both national and international levels;
WHEREAS, the 3x3 Men’s Basketball Team from Taytay, Rizal, composed of Jonathan D. Ramos, Rojan Angelo Flores, Paulo Rodrigo, and Cyrus Kenneth P. Samson, distinguished themselves at the First National Deaf Games by winning the Bronze medal in the basketball event held on October 12, 2024, embodying dedication, teamwork, and resilience;
WHEREAS, this achievement has brought pride and recognition to the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal, inspiring the youth and the community at large by setting an exemplary standard in the pursuit of sports excellence among persons with disabilities;
WHEREAS, the Philippine Sports Federation of the Deaf has formally requested incentives for these athletes as acknowledgment of their achievements and to support their continued development in sports;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in a session duly assembled, hereby to commend and congratulate Jonathan D. Ramos, Rojan Angelo Flores, Paulo Rodrigo, and Cyrus Kenneth P. Samson for their remarkable achievements in the First National Deaf Games, celebrating their success as Bronze medalists in the 3x3 Men’s Basketball event.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, respectfully requests Hon. Mayor Allan Martine S. De Leon to provide appropriate incentives to these athletes in recognition of their contributions to both local and national sports, and as encouragement for their future endeavors.
RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Philippine Sports Federation of the Deaf, the Office of the Mayor of Taytay, Rizal, and other relevant agencies for their information and appropriate action.
ADOPTED, this 6th day of November 2024, 3:43 PM at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal.
