A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR, ALLAN MARTINE S. DE LEON, MPA, TO SIGN AND ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH BONG SANTIAGO MEMORIAL CHAPEL FOR THE PROVISION OF CASKETS IN THE FORM OF PHP 5,000 – BURIAL ASSISTANCE TO QUALIFIED INDIGENT FAMILY-BENEFICIARIES OF THE DECEASED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY, PROVINCE OF RIZAL
WHEREAS, Section 11, Article XIII of the 1987 Constitution provides that, “[t]he State shall adopt an integrated and comprehensive approach to health development which shall endeavor to make essential goods, health and other social services available to all the people at affordable cost. There shall be priority for the needs of the underprivileged sick, elderly, disabled, women, and children”;
WHEREAS, Section 444(b)(1)(vi) of R.A. No. 7160 provides that the Municipal Mayor, upon authorization by the Sangguniang Bayan, may represent the municipality in all its business transactions and sign on its behalf all bonds, contracts, and obligations, and such other documents made pursuant to law or ordinance;
WHEREAS, Bong Santiago Memorial Chapel as represented by Mrs. Norwima Santiago, with office address at 814 A Bonifacio Avenue, Barangay San Juan, Cainta, Rizal provides funeral and burial services;
WHEREAS, the Municipal Government of Taytay, Rizal expressed its interest to partner with Bong Santiago Memorial Chapel by entering into a Memorandum of Agreement in order to provide caskets to qualified indigent family-beneficiaries of the deceased within the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal;
WHEREAS, in order to properly perform the duties of the Municipal Government with sincere care for the Taytayeños and their families, while enshrining the principle of Serbisyong May Ngiti, the signing of said Memorandum of Agreement is necessary;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in a session duly assembled, hereby AUTHORIZES THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR, ALLAN MARTINE S. DE LEON, MPA, TO SIGN AND ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH BONG SANTIAGO MEMORIAL CHAPEL FOR THE PROVISION OF CASKETS IN THE FORM OF PHP 5,000 – BURIAL ASSISTANCE TO QUALIFIED INDIGENT FAMILY-BENEFICIARIES OF THE DECEASED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY, PROVINCE OF RIZAL.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of the Memorandum of Agreement shall be forwarded to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, and all concerned Offices in the Municipal Government of Taytay.
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that the Memorandum of Agreement between the Municipal Government of Taytay, Rizal and Bong Santiago Memorial Chapel be subject for ratification by the Sangguniang Bayan before its full implementation.
RESOLVED FINALLY, that a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, and all concerned Offices in the Municipal Government of Taytay.
ADOPTED, this 10th day of January 2024, 4:02 PM at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal.
