Resolution No. 337 series of 2023

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF THE TAYTAY MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT (MPSD) FOR EFFECTIVELY DETERRING THE PROLIFERATION OF ILLEGAL VENDORS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY AND CONDEMNING VIOLENCE AGAINST THE MUNICIPALITY’S PERSONNEL

WHEREAS, it is evident that the Municipality of Taytay becomes a destination for Christmas Shoppers as Christmas Day approaches because of the many gift options with the Taytay Tiangge;

WHEREAS, the Taytay Tiangge is now known far and wide and is being patronized by retailers and wholesalers, especially this Christmas Season where heavy traffic and overcrowded “Tiangge” areas are expected along with illegal vendors who take advantage of the high foot traffic;

WHEREAS, the Municipality prioritizes the legitimate vendors to benefit from the flocking of tourists in the Municipality;

WHEREAS, the proliferation of illegal vendors highly compromises the interests of legitimate “tiangge” vendors which the Municipal Public Safety Department (MPSD) deters to the best of their efforts;

WHEREAS, violence arose from deterring the proliferation of illegal vendors;

WHEREAS, this Resolution aims to support and motivate the MPSD personnel’s in their bravery to prevent the proliferation of illegal vendors and protecting the interests of legitimate Tiangge Vendors;

WHEREAS, the 12th Sangguniang Bayan highly recommends to the Local Chief Executive to seek further protection to personnel that shall be assigned to hostile situations and to provide them with additional assistance in terms of insurances and gears of protection as well as hazard pay;

WHEREAS, this Resolution also aims to urge the private sector to coordinate and help the Municipality in deterring illegal vendors in the vicinity of Taytay Tiangges;

WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in session hereby assembled, hereby RESPECTFULLY COMMENDS AND SUPPORTS THE EFFORTS OF THE TAYTAY MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT (MPSD) FOR EFFECTIVELY DETERRING THE PROLIFERATION OF ILLEGAL VENDORS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY AND CONDEMNING VIOLENCE AGAINST THE MUNICIPALITY’S PERSONNEL.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to all concerned for their information and appropriate action.

ADOPTED, this 1st day of December 2023, 2:39 PM at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal.
