Resolution No. 491 series of 2024

A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS RELEVANCE OF THE RITE OF ENTHRONEMENT OF THE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE ANUNCIATA TO THE COMMUNITY AND RECOMMENDING THE INCLUSION OF THE IMAGE TO THE MUNICIPALITY’S LIST FOR SUBMISSION TO THE PHILIPPINE REGISTRY OF HERITAGE FOR THIS YEAR

WHEREAS, the image of Nuestra Señora De Anunciata dates back to the early 16th century and is made of ivory, wood, and silver accessories and is under the custody of Cofradia De la Nuestra Señora de Anunciata;

WHEREAS, the image is central to the foundation of Cofradia Dela Nuestra De Anunciata De Taytay, duly registered as Samahang Cofradia De Taytay Inc., which is one of the oldest existing lay religious organization in the Municipality of Taytay;

WHEREAS, on the 5th of September, 2024, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Antipolo, Inc., - Diocese of Antipolo issued a Letter of Establishment and Recognition of the religious organization as graciously granted by His Excellency, Bishop Ruperto Santos, D.D., with the guidance and support of Rector and Parish Priest, Very Rev. Pedrito Noel Rabonza III;

WHEREAS, the image is deeply tied to the early evangelization of Taytay by Spanish Missionaries, symbolizing the roots of Catholic faith in the region;

WHEREAS, the devotion to Nuestra Señora de Anunciata has influenced many local customs, including annual fiestas, processions, and novenas, blending religious devotion with local culture;

WHEREAS, religious images may be submitted to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts Philippine Registry of Heritage as a tangible and moveable cultural property;

WHEREAS, attached together with this Resolution is the photographed image of the Nuestra Señora De Anunciata together with the submitted documents of Samahang Cofradia De Taytay Inc. pertaining to the image;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in a session duly assembled, hereby ACKNOWLEDGES THE CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS RELEVANCE OF THE RITE OF ENTHRONEMENT OF THE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE ANUNCIATA TO THE COMMUNITY AND RECOMMENDS THE INCLUSION OF THE IMAGE TO THE MUNICIPALITY’S LIST FOR SUBMISSION TO THE PHILIPPINE REGISTRY OF HERITAGE FOR THIS YEAR.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to all associated offices and parties concerned for their information and appropriate action.

ADOPTED, this 9th day of October 2024, 2:12 PM at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal.
