A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OUR LOCAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE HON. ALLAN MARTINE S. DE LEON, MPA, TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH JOLLIBEE FOODS CORPORATION REPRESENTED BY MS. RUTH B. ANGELES, HEAD FOR HUMAN RESOURCES PHILIPPINES, WITH REGARDS TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM FOR QUALIFIED DIFFERENTLY ABLED PERSONS AND SENIOR CITIZENS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY, PROVINCE OF RIZAL
WHEREAS, the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that every local government unit shall be represented by its local chief executive in all business transactions and sign in its behalf all bonds, contracts and obligations and such other documents upon authority of the Sangguniang Bayan or pursuant to law or ordinances;
WHEREAS, it also provides in the same Code that every local government unit shall exercise the powers expressly granted, those necessarily implied there from, as well as the powers necessary, appropriate or incidental for its efficient and effective governance, and those which are essential to the promotion of the general welfare;
WHEREAS, the Expanded Senior Citizens Act provides that Senior Citizens, who have capacity and desire to work, be re-employed, shall be provided information and matching services to enable them to be productive members of the society and it recognizes the important role of the private sector in the improvement of the welfare of senior citizens and to actively seek their partnership;
WHEREAS, the Magna Carta for Disabled Person or Differently Abled Person provides that no disabled person or differently abled person shall be denied access to opportunities for suitable employment;
WHEREAS, Jollibee Foods Corporation, thru its representative, Ms. Ruth B. Angeles has launched its initiative to provide opportunity to those elderly and differently abled person in the Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal, who has the capacity and desire to work or be re-employed, to be in line with its corporate social responsibility towards the elderly and the differently abled persons;
WHEREAS, the Municipal Government of Taytay, Rizal expresses its support for the intention of the Jollibee Foods Corporation to open its facilities to accommodate qualified Senior Citizens and Differently Abled individuals for temporary employment;
WHEREAS, all parties in this Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) shall act in good faith in the performance of their respective obligations and ensure that their personnel, agents and representatives shall provide full support and cooperation for the successful implementation of the Program;
WHEREAS, the Municipal Government of Taytay, Rizal uphold the well-being of every families, particularly the Senior Citizens and Differently Abled Persons, consistent with the goal of providing Serbisyong May Ngiti to all Taytayeños through prompt outmost public service;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in session duly assembled, hereby AUTHORIZES OUR LOCAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE HON. ALLAN MARTINE S. DE LEON, MPA, TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH JOLLIBEE FOODS CORPORATION REPRESENTED BY MS. RUTH B. ANGELES, HEAD FOR HUMAN RESOURCES PHILIPPINES, WITH REGARDS TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM FOR QUALIFIED DIFFERENTLY ABLED PERSONS AND SENIOR CITIZENS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAYTAY, PROVINCE OF RIZAL.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the duly signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Jollibee Foods Corporation shall be ratified first by the Sangguniang Bayan before its implementation.
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that the copy of this Resolution be furnished to all concerned offices for their information and appropriate action.
ADOPTED, this 28th day of August 2024, 2:48 PM at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Municipality of Taytay, Province of Rizal.
